Many trend watchers agree: After 2 years of wedding hiatus, 2022 has seen a major comeback in everything nuptial-related, including bigger, bolder engagement rings. So whether you are browsing for yourself or your soon-to-be spouse, it’s a good idea to know what you can expect to see as you scroll through all the sparkling options.

Here are some of the biggest current trends and ones we expect to see continuing into 2023.

Pave Bands

Pave bands have been popular for a while and the trend is likely to continue since pave is an affordable way to add extra glitz to a ring. Pave hands range from the simple, such as our Stella ring, to the highly intricate, such as our Allegra ring

The secret of pave bands is that they look more expensive than they actually are. The minuscule diamonds that encrust a pave band may look substantial when grouped together but they are so small that their value is a small fraction of what you’ll pay for the center stone.

Pave bands are the perfect setting for wearers who are looking for something a little extra but classy at the same time. They are a modern spin on the classic look of tapered baguettes and can bring a ring into the 21st century.

Rose Gold

Another ring trend that continues to grow in popularity is rose gold. Rose gold is a combination of yellow gold and copper that produces a pink-hued metal. You might associate rose gold with the Victorian age and Russian aristocracy, but its come back into fashion in a big way in the past few years and doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. But this nod to the past gives rose gold jewelry, and rings especially, a vintage flair that many ring wearers love.

All of our rings are available in rose gold, as well as yellow and white gold. While rose gold does suit every type of complexion, experts recommend those with olive or pink undertones are best suited to this metal mixture.

Contoured Stacked Sets

Is there anything more beautiful than two rings that fit together perfectly? Well, there might be but we really do love a contoured stack.

Contoured stacks are bridal sets where the wedding band is shaped to accommodate the curves of the engagement ring, such as our Duet ring and matching wedding band. These two perfectly paired rings create a stunning stacked look and can be very comfortable for the wearer.

Bonus Diamond Details

Another way to make your ring special is to add surprise diamond details within the setting, such as pave diamonds set into the prongs holding in the center stone.

This additional sparkle can make your ring more unique and turn a classic, simple style, like a 4-prong solitaire, into something more interesting. And it’s a great way to bring a bit of a modern twist to those much-loved classic setting styles.

Vintage Inspo

If you’re finding contemporary styles boring, you are in good company as many ring wearers are opting for vintage rings or vintage-inspired rings. While true antique and vintage engagement rings can be rare and/or beyond your budget, there are plenty of vintage-inspired options to choose from. Look out for crafting techniques such as milgrain, hand engraving, draping, and filagree as well as popular vintage diamond shapes like cushions and marquise.

Cathedral Settings

For brides looking to keep things simple and classic but add a unique twist, the cathedral setting is a stunning option. What defines a cathedral setting? These rings feature a center stone and two arches of metal on either side that come up from the shank, mimicking the architecture of an ancient cathedral. Our own Milan ring features a cathedral setting, bringing to mind the Duomo church that inspired the ring’s name.
