Just as we renew our personal energy, we must renew the energy in our home to create a positive and sacred space. This is especially effective when going through a divorce, break-up, or any other type of transition. Just as we absorb the energy of people we interact with each day, our homes absorb the energy of everything and anything that passes through. Emotions have an energetic frequency that get absorbed into our space. Think about the amount of emotions we experience on a daily basis. Think about the emotions you have gone through before, during, and after a divorce or break-up. Emotions such as happiness, joy, and love all vibrate at a high frequency while fear, anger, blame, and resentment are all low level energetic emotions. The vibrational frequency of these emotions attract what we bring into our life, either positive or negative. It’s is essential that we renew our space energetically to match our highest good.

The energy of your home can be renewed in 5 simple steps:

1. Purging

Get rid of what no longer serves you to create space for all the new to come in. Empty your closets, drawers, cabinets, basement, etc. Don’t hold on to the past any longer; it’s time to look ahead. When my ex-husband moved out of the house, I sold almost everything inside my house by having an estate sale. An estate sale is like a garage sale inside your house. I knew I needed to get rid of all the past energy entwined with my new dreams and desires and this was an awesome starting point. Estatesales.net is a great site to register your sale and bring in a plethora of customers. I made about $10,000 selling everything after the divorce. It was an incredibly cleansing and freeing experience that also brought in financial abundance! It made it super fun shopping for the space that was now completely mine with my kids.

2. Smudging

After I purged the whole house, I had it blessed and smudged with sage and Palo Santo to rid of all of the stale, negative energy left over. The woman who blessed it quickly went into the room where my ex had been sleeping the months that we were separated and immediately said that she sensed a ton of frustrated, negative energy in that room. I didn’t want to carry any more frustration after the divorce so having it smudged felt crazy freeing. You can do this yourself also by simply buying a white sage smudge stick and going around to each corner of the house circling the smoke in a counterclockwise rotation setting the intention for ridding of all stale, negative energy. It is good to do this each season no matter what is going on in life to freshen up the existing energy. It’s important to live in a state of renewal as energy is always changing day by day, minute to minute.

3. Aromatherapy

The use of essential oils with a diffuser is a great way to cleanse your space, whether at home or work. Oils such as sage, cypress, rose, frankincense, juniper, patchouli, and lavender are all great to diffuse throughout the house. The company Young Living also has oils such as “Abundance”, “Peace and Calming”, “Stress Away”, “Envision” and “Awaken” that are great for setting the intention for what energy we’d like to bring into our space.

4. Opening Windows

There is nothing like opening the windows on a beautiful day! No matter what the season is, it is essential to circulate the energy around in our home. When people get sick, the first thing they want to do is open the windows and get the germs out. Well, start opening those windows now BEFORE a cold begins. Move that energy around and let what no longer serves you find its way out! Breathe in the new, fresh air as you say good-bye to the old, stale air.

5. Salt Lamps

Himalayan salt lamps are wonderful for ridding negative energy and starting new by purifying the air. Salt is rich with negative ions which are responsible for increased serotonin, with one major side effect being an increased positive mood. It also has a wonderful capability of absorbing negative energy.

Get rid of toxins and create a healthy and happy environment by increasing the positive energy with purging, smudging, aromatherapy, open windows and salt lamps.
