Like Mariah Carey’s first hit, it’s a vision of love. Mariah Carey’s new engagement ring is easy on the eyes. In fact, it falls into the “visible from space” category.

Mariah’s fiance billionaire James Packer, who popped the question at a New York restaurant on January 21, 2016, proposed with a 35-carat diamond and platinum ring.

To put it into perspective, that’s larger than the engagement rings of Beyonce and Kim Kardashian West combined. It’s even two carats larger than the 33-carat Elizabeth Taylor diamond, which sold at auction for $8.8 million in 2011.

Mariah joked that it’s so heavy, she can’t lift her arm.

The emerald-cut diamond and platinum engagement ring was created by jeweler Wilfredo Rosado, who has been friends with the jewelry-loving singer for 25 years.

The ring designer told Vogue, “I really wanted to create something for her that was about new beginnings. I wanted to give her something super sophisticated and something that took away all of the embellishments that a lot of people use when they design engagement rings these days. But it is epic. It’s an epic ring for an epic time in her life.”

“I took the standards super high, and I wanted to create a ring that could not be measured up to,” says Rosado.

Throughout her career, Carey has sold more than 200 million records worldwide, making her one of the top ten best-selling musical artists of all time.

This is Mariah’s third marriage but not her third engagement ring. In fact, Mariah is somewhat of a connoisseur of engagement rings. Every new ring has been better than the previous one.

Her first engagement ring from Tommy Mottola, the head of Sony Music who she married in 1993, also featured an emerald cut diamond. It cost less than her half-a-million-dollar Princess-Diana inspired wedding, which included a $25,000 dress by Vera Wang, a 27-foot train, and 50 flower girls.

Her second wedding to Nick Cannon in the Bahamas in 2008 was a private event but the ring was much better: a 17-carat pink and white diamond ring with a 10.02-emerald cut pink diamond by Jacob Arabo of Jacob & Co in the center. The ring is valued at $2.5 million.

Mariah and Nick renewed their vows twice more and Mariah got a new ring each time. For their third wedding, he gave her a pave diamond and pink sapphire ring designed to look like the ring pop he proposed with in 2008. (When proposing to a jewelry-lover like Mariah, a wise man lets her design her own ring.)

We wish Mariah and James the best. But we also can’t help wondering if it doesn’t work out what Mariah’s fourth engagement ring might look like.
