Watches are a big part of our business at Worthy. Everyday we help individuals sell their luxury timepieces for the highest market price while taking out all the hassle of selling to a trustworthy buyer. Hublot, Audemars Piguet, and TAG Heuer are just a few of the prestigious brands that we accept. We are betting that some of these World Cup partnerships listed below will make for great value-adding components to these already coveted timepieces.

Hublot has been a long time player in the world of international soccer, sponsoring the likes of Pele, Diego Maradona, Xherdan Shaqiri, Falcao, and more. This year, they are the official watch and timekeeper of the 2018 World Cup. And of course, there is the special edition World Cup Hublot watch, the Big Bang Referee 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™, which is a newly designed smartwatch that allows the referees to connect to on-field goal line technology. Fans can use this watch to connect as well, following every second of every match. With multiple sensors including a gyroscope, accelerometer, tilt detector, GPS, and more, this special edition World Cup watch offers a titanium case and bezel, a 34.5mm 400 x 400 pixel screen and water resistance to a depth of 50 Meters. It is powered by Google’s Wear OS operating system.

Leo Messi, Argentina

Lionel Messi is “quite simply the world’s best footballer” according to Audemars Piguet. This is probably why, in 2012, they signed him on as an endorser. Since then, the Audemars Piguet Leo Messi watch has gone through a few changes. The 2018 Royal Oak Double Balance Wheel Openworked watch combines the timepiece’s signature geometric style with beautiful openwork that reveals the watch’s “beating heart” to be viewed from both the front and back of the case.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal

Cristiano Ronaldo has been a brand ambassador for TAG Heuer for years, even designing a special Connected Watch in signature green. Other Tag Heuer Cristiano Ronaldo watches include the Tag Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph, the Tag Heuer Aquaracer, and the Tag Heuer Carrera Calibre HEUER 01 Automatic Chronograph. Sleek and stylish like Cristiano Ronaldo himself, these timepieces also happen to be the perfect complement for an active lifestyle.

Neymar, Brazil

Brazilian champion Neymar is renowned not only for his prowess on the field, but for his love of fine timepieces. During a single afternoon shopping trip in Tokyo’s GaGa Milano Boutique, Neymar purchased 16 watches and 5 accessories, totaling more than 20 million yen. Today, “O Ney” is a brand ambassador for GaGa Milano. He frequently wears the GaGa Milano Neymar Jr. Limited Edition watch, which features sleek, black styling and diamonds on the number 11.

Mats Hummels, Germany

TAG Heuer added Mats Hummels as a brand ambassador in 2016. The German Central defender puts on a great show on the field, and can often be seen sporting a TAG Heuer Monaco with a square case, automatic chronograph, and bold blue dial. Mats is among the stars of TAG Heuer’s Don’t Crack Under Pressure campaign.

Harry Kane, England

In 2015, Hublot created a special edition watch to celebrate Harry Kane’s astonishing year with the English Premier League. Kane, who is a Tottenham Hotspur striker and captain of the English national team, has also been spotted wearing a classic Gold Rolex Daytona.

Top watch brands matched with top-performing athletes is a perfect combination. It will be interesting to see how these partnerships – many of them already longstanding – last and continue to mutually benefit when the 2018 World Cup comes to a finish. Until then enjoy the games!
