With the goal of understanding the journey towards financial independence after divorce, this spring we launched the Wealth Warriors survey. By taking it, the participants got the chance to win a consultation with financial advisor Laurie Itkin along with the grand prize of $1,000.
The quiz included a mix of questions to help women understand where they are on their path of financial knowledge and independence. Some focused on their different attitudes toward money during their marriage and post-divorce while others tackled fear factors women had during the divorce process. The majority of participants (43%) received the title of gladiator, women in the midst of their financial struggle. Next up were conquerors (31.7%), those fierce females putting all their efforts into building up new or existing careers. Many women (15.3%) ranked as captain as they are just beginning their journey toward financial knowledge. Finally, a significant number of women received the empress title (10%) for being the CFOs of their household. These titles were a way for quiz-takers to see what lays ahead of them in the world of personal finances and give them the confidence to keep going as wealth warriors.
The survey ran from March to April, and we received 1.8K responses. The infographic below summarizes the results of our Wealth Warrior quiz, showing that while divorce can be a financial challenge, more and more women are taking this as an opportunity to empower themselves both in their personal and professional journey.
