About Moser Watches

Heinrich Moser was born in Schaffhausen Switzerland in 1805. He came from a line of watchmakers, including his father and his grandfather. As such, he learned the intricacies of this profession and became a watchmaker of the highest order. Combined with his incredible artistic skill, and insight, he soon won international acclaim for his watchmaking prowess. At the young age of 21 he set up his own watchmaking business. In 1826 the doors to Moser & Cie were opened to rapturous applause. A blend of exquisite watch creations, and rare timepieces were the hallmarks of the Heinrich Moser brand. It wasn’t long before members of the imperial court and Russian princes commissioned his high-quality watches.

In fact, Moser sold movements to a variety of other companies, including Faberge’s table clocks. Such is the extremely high quality of craftsmanship, ingenuity and artistry that the Moser brand has won critical international acclaim. In 2005, Moser’s great-grandson – Roger Nicholas Balsiger – teamed up with Dr. Jürgen Lange as well as Thomas Straumann to re-establish the company. In 2012 the experience of Meylan family was added to the mix. Combined, expert watchmaking knowledge from these two families boosted the H. Moser & Cie brand exponentially. Currently, Edouard Meylan serves as CEO of the company.
