Carmen - a Worthy Story - Worthy's Client Review

Here at Worthy we get to interact with a lot of great people and hear their stories. We don’t simply help them sell their “expensive stuff’. We get to help them unlock the value of their luxury items, allowing them to make better use of their value. In this case, we helped Carmen, from Bloomington, Indiana to sell her diamond rings so that she could buy “her new toy”, a brilliant orange CanAm Spyder. She was a joy to work with and was happy to be interviewed about her experience.

Q. How did you find Worthy?
A. I found Worthy online; it was easy.

Q. Did you try and sell the item before – eBay or at a local jewelry store?
A. No, I just decided to sell these rings since I knew they were valuable and I had a certificate for one of them. So I kind of knew what they should be worth.

 
Q. Did you try selling them with anyone else once you got the estimate from Worthy?
A. Yes, But, I did try one other place online before I decided to sell them with Worthy. This was WP Diamonds* but they would not take the other two bands for which I did not have a certificate, and their offer was ridiculously low. So, I then went forward with Worthy.

Q. How did you find the process?
A. It was so easy! I first went online on Tuesday and then submitted my information. I then spoke with Arthur who guided me through the whole process. He was great!

Q. How long did it take you?
A. I started submitting my information on Tuesday and agreed to go forward on Wednesday. Then the auction took place on Thursday, and I accepted the bid on Friday. Worthy wired the money into my bank account on Saturday. If I started on Monday, I would have been done probably by Thursday with the money in the bank by Friday. It could not have been any easier.

Q. Were you hesitant to send your valuables to an online marketplace that you had not known or done business with before?
A. Yes, there was some hesitation at first but I am pretty experienced in these things. My husband and I launched our own online business before and I have a good sense of these things. Once I started working with Arthur, I knew that things were going to be all right. But, I still had witnesses and also videotaped placing the items in the package in front of the FedEx lady. We actually had to do it twice because she screwed up the shipping label the first time. When I saw that the package was insured by Worthy and they were paying for everything, this provided a great deal of reassurance.

Q. So you were pretty satisfied with the outcome of your Worthy experience?
A. Absolutely, it was a win-win for me. I got what I thought my wedding rings were worth and now I can buy a new motorcycle.

Q. Would you use Worthy again?
A. No question about it! I am planning to sell a ruby bracelet on Worthy.
